Namtho Trinh of Hamilton Township died in the crash on Thursday, Nov. 7, the Hamilton Police Division said in a news release. Officers responded to the intersection of South Olden and Riley avenues at around 4:01 p.m.

Police said a 2011 Ford Escape was driving west on South Olden Avenue. Trinh entered the intersection and was hit by the SUV's front passenger side as he tried to cross over to the southern side of the road.

Trinh, 67, was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the Trenton hospital.

Investigators said Trinh might have entered the road "in an inattentive manner." The 57-year-old man who drove the Ford wasn't speeding and sun glare may have impacted his visibility.

Anyone with information about the crash should call Hamilton Township police at 609-581-4000.
